Workshops at the Springfield Museum School
Masla will be teaching a series of drawing and painting workshops
at the Springfield (MA.), Museum of Fine Arts, Summer, and Fall. Below are current course descriptions links to register at the Museum School.
Join artist Robert Masla in the journey of creative expression, learning and fun though drawing. He creates an atmosphere where both absolute beginners and advanced artists alike feel themselves nourished, growing and stretching. When you leave this workshop you will take with you tools, techniques, and methods that you can apply to your art making and exercises you can use to strengthen your skills and continue drawing.

Join award Masla for a day of expanding your creative potential and technical expertise. Open to all levels of painters from the beginner to advanced. Bring in 1 or 2 works you are not happy with and see what can happen.
Bob will share a variety of techniques and methods as well as discuss ways of looking at and analyzing paintings to “get them to work” and what that actually means – as well as how to add the “wow factor”. He will be demoing suggestions on a piece of clear acetate on top of your work, (piece must be dry), you can then photograph the image and try the suggestions or modifications on your work yourself as Bob is there to assist you. Be prepared to have fun, grow your artistic vision and take your painting to the next level!

Solvent Free Oil Painting! Learn about the advantages of using non-toxic water mixable oil paint. Masla will share with you a variety of methods and techniques that take advantage of this revolutionary painting medium. The best of watercolor and the best of oil – combined. Masla will be demoing and using Cobra water-mixable oils. – Be prepared to get creative, learn a lot, make a mess and have fun!
